本日2023年11月3日は1954年の「ゴジラ」公開日から70年の節目の記念日です。
大変光栄なことに日本が誇るキングオブモンスターゴジラと中村人形のコラボレーションが実現いたしました。
題して「追憶の呉爾羅」！
ゴジラ70周年を記念して博多人形の技術の粋を凝らして1954年版の初代ゴジラをモチーフに僕自身のフィルターを通したゴジラを作らせていただきました。
全身にこれまで戦った怪獣たちを精緻に描き込み、70年の歴史を振り返るゴジラ像です。
「自然が人間の行いを見ている」というメッセージを込めた僕の動物の作品シリーズ「グリーンアイズ」とのコラボレーションも実現して、緑の瞳のゴジラにすることができたのも望外の悦びです！

僕自身平成ゴジラ世代ど真ん中。もしもタイムスリップして小学生の自分に会いにいけたら、将来大きなゴジラを作ることになるよって教えてあげたいです。本当に心から楽しい制作の時間と感じています。
この作品は11/6から福岡は弊ギャラリーの傀藝堂、加えて東京は有楽町阪急メンズ館7階のB-OWNDギャラリーにて11/4から期間限定展示されます。

Today, November 3, 2023, marks the 70th anniversary of the release of “Godzilla” in 1954. I am honored to announce a collaboration between Japan’s beloved King of Monsters, Godzilla, and Nakamura Dolls. It is titled “Godzilla of Reminiscence”! In celebration of Godzilla’s 70th anniversary, we have painstakingly crafted a Godzilla motif, based on the original 1954 version, through the finest techniques of Hakata dolls, filtered through my own vision.
Every detail on this figure depicts the monsters Godzilla has battled over the past 70 years, reflecting the history of Godzilla. I am delighted to announce a collaboration with my animal-themed artwork series, “Green Eyes,” which conveys the message that “nature is watching human actions.” This collaboration has resulted in a Godzilla with green eyes, bringing unexpected joy!
This artwork will be produced in a limited edition of 10, and reservations will be accepted on the “Kurego of Reminiscence” special website.

I belong to the Heisei Godzilla generation. If I could go back in time and meet my elementary school self, I would tell them that they will create a giant Godzilla in the future. The process of creating this work was truly enjoyable and close to my heart.
